Biography
Zhenfu Cao is a distinguished professor and director of
Trusted Digital Technology Laboratory at Shanghai Jiao Tong University. He also serves as a member of expert panel of National Nature Science Fund of China.
Prof. Cao joined the Department of Computer Science and Engineering of Shanghai Jiao Tong University and found the Trusted Digital Technology Lab in Jan, 2002. He earned his bachelor degree in computer science and technology from Harbin Institute of Technology in 1983, then he joined as a lecturer at the same year, was exceptionally promoted to Associate Professor in 1987 and became a professor in 1991. Then he completed his Ph.D. thesis in 1999 and became a doctoral supervisor in the next year.
Prof. Cao has been invited to University of Tsukuba (Japan), National Institute of Information and Communications Technology (NICT, Japan), Hong Kong Baptist University, Chinese University of Hong Kong, Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, and National Chiao Tung University in Taiwan for academic activities.
In 1981, he began to publish academic papers. His papers appeared in
Chinese Science Bulletin in 1985 and
Proceedings of the American Mathematic Society in 1986. Up to now (1981 - 2008), more than 300 academic papers have been published in Journals or conferences, among which more than 110 are cited by SCI and 150 by EI. Also, he has 20 Chinese patents, 4 International and USA patents filed. He has been invited to give keynote / invited / tutorial lectures for more than 40 times in prestigious universities and academic institutes. He had directed more than 40 research projects at national or provincial levels, six of which were supported by National Natural Science Foundation of China. He became a reviewer of
Mathematical Reviews since 1988 and
Zentralblatt fur Mathematik since 1991 and has published 200 reviews till now. As the first author or single author, he won the first prize of Natural Science award by Ministry of Education of China and other six provincial or ministerial prizes. He has received a number of awards, including the Youth Research Fund Awarded of Chinese Academy of Science (1986), Ying-Tung Fok Young Teacher Award (1989), the First Ten Outstanding Youth in Harbin (1996), the National Outstanding Youth Fund of China (2002), Guangqi Xu Gold Award for science and technology (2003), IT Elitist of East China (2004), Special Allowance by the State Council (2005), the Co-recipient of IEEE ICC'07 - Computer and Communications Security Symposium Best Paper Award (2007).
Prof. Cao is actively involved in the academic community, serving as committee / session chair, and program committee member in some international conference committees as follows:
- IEEE Global Communications Conference (GLOBECOM 2008),
- IEEE International Conference on Communications (ICC 2008),
- International Wireless Communications & Mobile Computing Conference (IWCMC 2006),
- International Conference on Communications and Networking in China (Chinacom 2007 - 2008),
- ACM International Conference on Information Security (InfoSecu 2004),
- Global Mobile Congress (GMC 2004 - 2008).
Besides, Prof. Cao is the program committee co-chair of China National Computer Conference and committee chair of Information Security and Trusted Computing in 2005. He is also the program committee member or co-chair of Chinese Cryptologic Research Conference (Chinacrypto) which has been held from 1994 to 2008.
He is also the associate editor of
Computers & Security (Elsevier), Editorial Board member of
Peer-to-Peer Networking and Applications (Springer-Verlag), and guest editor of Special Issue on Wireless Network Security,
Wireless Communications and Mobile Computing (John Wiley), etc.
